Will the NHS recover from Covid-19?

Focusing on primary care, our co-founder Will Gao spoke to Professor Azeem Majeed about the impact of COVID-19 on the NHS.

Professor Azeem Majeed is a professor and head of the department of Primary Care & Public Health at Imperial College London. Professor Majeed is also a practising GP giving him a unique perspective on how the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted primary care and how it might recover.

Most people know that general practice has been under pressure for a while, with workplace and funding shortages making it harder to recruit GPs. In March 2020, at the start of the pandemic, GPs across the country made the switch to telephone or video appointments to reduce the risk to both patients and staff.

Will and Professor Majeed sit down to discuss this dramatic shift away from face-to-face appointments and how the NHS can recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
